Steroids: The Corruption of Baseball Steroids changed the game of baseball for an era by transforming the game from defensively oriented mindsets to who could offensively â€Å"out-slug† one another. Steroids have changed the game of baseball due to the fact that it makes you stronger and the players that use it can hit the ball a lot further than others. Steroids are performance enhancing drugs most commonly used by athletes or bodybuilders so that they can gain more muscle quickly and easily to have an advantage on their opponents. It gives them a huge advantage over the rest of the players that don t take it because the walls are immobile so as they are getting stronger than the rest, the walls or the home run fence still stay the same†¦show more content†¦Androgenic effects all the male traits (Doping†¦). Most athletes take just testosterone boosters which is the anabolic steroid to help their performance is synthetic modifications of testosterones (Doping†¦). This form of anabolic steroid has been approved for medical issues but obviously taking them for athletic ability is not one of them. This hormone is taken through pills, injections, and topical treatments. Other than gaining more muscles, athletes take these steroids to help them recover from workouts quicker and reduces muscle damage after a workout. Without overtraining this drug enables the athlete to workout more often and make the workouts harder (Doping†¦). Some athletes even like the aggressive feeling the drug gives them while taking the steroid. Designer steroids are another type of anabolic drug which is the most dangerous steroid out there but some athletes still take it because of one reason. This synthetic steroid has been illicitly made to be undetected by the current drug tests given by professional sports (Doping†¦). This steroid has not been medically approved for use and has not been approved nor tested by the Food and Drug Administration since this it is a health threat to athletes (Doping†¦). Many athletes take way too much doses of steroids than what even doctors prescribe which is a health threat to the athletes.
